The RoleÂ
We are seeking a talented and driven Hardware Engineer with an electrical bias to join our R&D team. As an integral member in a multidisciplinary team, you will play an instrumental role in designing and developing the technical specifications of innovative consumer electronics products. You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers and industrial designers to create cutting-edge solutions that meet market needs and exceed customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and Development:Â
⢠  Develop specifications and designs for hardware components, including circuit boards, processors, sensors, and other electronic devices.
⢠  Utilise computer-aided design (CAD) and simulation tools to create robust and efficient designs.
⢠  Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements during the design phase.
Prototyping, Testing & Verification:Â
⢠  Build and test prototypes to validate hardware concepts and designs.
⢠  Conduct performance, reliability, and safety assessments on prototypes and functional trial production samples from manufacturing suppliers.
⢠  Iterate on designs based on prototype feedback to ensure optimal functionality and manufacturability.
⢠  Perform rigorous testing, including functional, environmental, and stress tests, to verify hardware designs.
⢠  Analyse test data to identify potential issues and implement improvements.
⢠  Collaborate with external testing facilities or manufacturing suppliers for specialized testing requirements when necessary.
⢠  Work closely with mechanical engineers, industrial designers and quality engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with the overall product design.
⢠  Coordinate with supplierâs software engineers and product managers to align hardware development with software and product requirements.
⢠  Support manufacturing teams during the transition from prototype to mass production.
Continuous Improvement & Engagement:Â
⢠  Prepare comprehensive documentation for design specifications, testing procedures, and production processes.
⢠  Maintain accurate records to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards.
⢠  Provide post-launch support by troubleshooting hardware issues in collaboration with manufacturing and quality assurance teams.
⢠  Develop solutions for field-reported problems and implement design modifications as needed.
⢠  Stay updated with advancements in electronics technology and industry trends.
⢠  Spirit of a pioneer - evaluate new tools, propose and implement to grow the R&D facilities. Initiate methodologies to enhance product performance and development efficiency.
⢠  Contribute innovative ideas to inform the design of next-generation products.

REQUIREMENTS:Â
⢠  Bachelorâs Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
⢠  Proven experience in hardware design and product development, preferably in the consumer electronics industry.
⢠  Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools for electronic circuit design.
⢠  Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB design, and signal integrity principles.
⢠  Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of hardware.
⢠  Experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware integration
⢠  Familiarity with manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM).
⢠  Knowledge of compliance standards such as CE, FCC, or UL is advantageous
⢠  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail.
⢠  Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
⢠  Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
⢠  Mandarin-speaking ability is preferred as you will be required to liaise with suppliers in China
